Phylogeography of a riparian earthworm shows environmental factors influence genetic structure

چکیده
Aim The study of cosmopolitan earthworms could be even more interesting than that endemic species in revealing evolutionary processes. Previous research on the worm Eiseniella tetraedra has indicated some phylogeographic structure among populations, but factors responsible remain unresolved. We hypothesized environmental and dispersal have shaped distribution species' lineages. Location Spain Portugal; Iberian Peninsula. Taxon (Lumbricidae, Oligochaeta, Annelida). Methods collected 739 specimens from 65 localities around Peninsula between 2012 2016. performed phylogenetic analysis (Bayesian Inference maximum likelihood) using two mitochondrial (COI 16S) one nuclear marker (28S). Furthermore, we studied their genetic diversity historic demography based COI gene. Correlations 22 were tested. Results showed high Peninsula, with eight different lineages nested clades. found mostly restricted to northern region, while others distributed throughout Habitat stability, is, constant availability or lack water, also correlated diversity. Thus, although no clear pattern was found, (such as precipitation, temperature, soil pH) habitat stability influenced variability. Main Conclusions is an earthworm great show ranges relative ability ambiguous patterns may better explained by influence conditions rather specific geographic features. Adaptation unstable been shown confer success major clades recovered, pointing ecological plasticity a key for success.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex and heterogeneous disorder characterized by hyperandrogenemia, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, and chronic anovulation. It is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age with an enigmatic pathophysiologic and molecular basis. The high prevalence of affected individuals and the wide range of phenotypic expression can be expl...
متن کاملAllergic asthma: influence of genetic and environmental factors.
Allergic asthma is a chronic airway inflammatory disease in which exposure to allergens causes intermittent attacks of breathlessness, airway hyper-reactivity, wheezing, and coughing. Allergic asthma has been called a "syndrome" resulting from a complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Worldwide, >300 million individuals are affected by this disease, and in the United States...

THE EFFECT OF GENETIC AL AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS ON LIPIDS: A TWIN STUDY
To assess the relative contribution of genetic and environmental factors (particularly androgens) on circulating levels of lipid fractions, serum androgen and lipid fractions were measured in 34 pairs of female-female twins aged from 15- 45 years, some of whom were discordant for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) diagnosed by ultrasound. Nineteen pairs were monozygotic twins (MZ) and 15 pai...
